Meth Lab Busted

June 14, 2010

Additional information regarding a local drug bust, has been released by Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver.
Officer Jeff Bryant, with the Centre PD, received information indicating that someone had made a purchase, which appeared to be of a suspicious nature – consisting of items, commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine – in turn, Bryant alerted Cherokee County Narcotics Agents.

Acting on the information obtained agents went to a residence on Park Street in Leesburg in order to question those allegedly involved.

Upon arrival at the location they detected an odor of methamphetamine and soon found a cooking meth lab in plain view inside of a pick up truck at the home.

At that point Investigator Brian Gilliland with the Leesburg Police Department was called, and the owner of the vehicle – 27 year old Brent Austin Reaves of Gadsden – was then taken into custody at the scene.

Reaves was charged with Manufacturing 1st Degree – and Trafficking Crystal Methamphetamine – his vehicle was also seized in the operation.
